Tutorial-Shoe Bags

Shoes are something we can’t go without especially when traveling. However the fear that my nice shoes would get scuffed up while in the suitcase or that my tennis shoes would leave dirt on my clothes prompted me to used walmart bags for my shoes. However walmart bags are most certaintly not pretty. In order that I might protect my shoes in something pretty I made myself some shoe bags. And in order that you might protect your shoes in something pretty I made you a tutorial and am sharing it.IMG_2751 - Cover Photo #3

I have seen several different tutorials for shoe bags out there. They are what first gave me the idea to make some for myself. However none of them were exactly like I wanted, so I made my own.

I wanted a totally finished bag, meaning no exposed seams and thread. I also wanted a shoe bag with two “pockets”, that way the shoes wouldn’t mess each other up. I accomplished this by using french seams and sewing two seams down the middle of my bag creating the two “pockets”.

The bags were so easy I made three, enough for all the pairs of shoes I needed to take on my trip for a speech and debate tournament.

So now it’s your turn. Pick out some fabric, grab a sewing machine, and download my tutorial to get started: Shoe Bags Tutorial by Everything Pudding.
